Runnin with the Balrog by GrumminMyGully908

Format: Commander

Commander: The Balrog, Durin's Bane

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Rakdos deck centers on sacrifice synergies, Treasure generation, and aggressive commander damage using The Balrog, Durin's Bane. The Balrog reduces its own casting cost for every permanent sacrificed each turn, allowing it to enter early and repeatedly for minimal mana. With innate haste and evasion against nonlegendary creatures, The Balrog applies heavy pressure supported by power-doubling combat tricks like Unleash Fury, Two-Handed Axe, and Temur Battle Rage. Alternate win conditions include alternate-win engines like Revel in Riches and Hellkite Tyrant, explosive infinite-mana loops via Goldspan Dragon and Crown of Flames, and Aristocrats drain from Mayhem Devil.
