Animar by cygnusx1

Format: Commander

Commander: Animar, Soul of Elements

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is an Animar combo-beatdown deck that turns cheap creatures into exponential casting discounts. The commander is the primary engine and a combo piece: each creature spell adds a +1/+1 counter, lowering all future creature costs. The main plan is to ramp into Animar, grow him with counter synergies such as Hardened Scales and Ozolith, then win through combat with big flyers and Eldrazi or via the Ancestral Statue + Purphoros infinite ETB loop. There is no double-faced commander; the hidden commander is the Ancestral Statue, since the deck's most compact finisher revolves around it. Secondary paths include casting The Lord of the Eagles with massive discount, cheating Ulamog into play with Ilharg, and controlling the stack with a dense counter suite.
