Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a mono-black aristocrats/drain deck helmed by Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER, who turns every sacrifice into a card and every death into a life-drain trigger. The primary plan is to assemble a compact sacrifice loop - Gravecrawler with a Zombie like Carrion Feeder plus a free sacrifice outlet such as Phyrexian Altar or Ashnod's Altar - and convert it into infinite death triggers with a drain payoff like Blood Artist, Falkenrath Noble, Syr Konrad, the Grim, or The Meathook Massacre. The deck also packs a big-mana fallback: Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx to power a lethal Exsanguinate or Corrupt. Secondary lines include Sanguine Bond with life-gain triggers, Triskaidekaphobia as an alternate win, and the treasure engine of Warren Soultrader plus Pitiless Plunderer. Sephiroth's transform into Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel adds an emblem that doubles the drain and provides burst draw.
