Braids – The High Cost of Living

Format: Commander

Commander: Braids, Arisen Nightmare

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This mono-black sacrifice and discard deck uses Braids, Arisen Nightmare as a continuous card engine and resource denial tool. Early turns deploy cheap disposable permanents, hand disruption, and token generators such as Bitterblossom, Ophiomancer, and Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia. Sacrificing these to Braids forces opponents to bleed life and empty their boards or feed you three extra cards every turn. Massive mana generation from Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast effects, and ritual spells fuels game-ending threats like Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Breach the Multiverse, Syr Konrad, the Grim, and transformed Sheoldred to drain life totals and wipe surviving opposition.
