Hydra by Qwertyuiopasdfghjkl

Format: Commander

Commander: Gargos, Vicious Watcher

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Gargos, Vicious Watcher heads a mono-green Hydra deck that uses his cost reduction to cast X-cost hydras for a tiny price, then pumps them with +1/+1 counters and trample to close out the game. The commander also doubles as a removal engine: cheap instants that target your own creatures trigger Gargos's fight ability, clearing blockers. Secondary lines include Kalonian Hydra, Unnatural Growth, and Overwhelming Stampede for huge power swings, backed by The Great Henge and Rishkar's Expertise for draw. The deck is straightforward stompy: accelerate to Gargos, land a large hydra, then turn a critical mass of tramplers sideways. There is no infinite combo; the win is a real combat step, usually on turn 7 with two or three pumped hydras.
