Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats deck uses Ayara, First of Locthwain to turn creature deployment and sacrifice into steady life drain and card advantage. In the early game, token producers like Ophiomancer and Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia feed Ayara to draw cards while whittling down opposing life totals. Graveyard tutors like Buried Alive and Entomb set up powerful reanimation turns featuring Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Abhorrent Overlord. The primary win condition pairs Ayara with Plague of Vermin, creating an infinite life drain loop that eliminates the table in one turn. Spells like Saw in Half provide explosive burst finishes by duplicating Gary's devotion triggers. The deck packs efficient creature removal, board wipes, and death-based protection spells, though it remains vulnerable to instant-speed removal, graveyard hate, and countermagic.
