Deck overview

This is a mono-black sacrifice deck built around Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER, recurring creatures, expendable tokens, and death-trigger payoffs. The normal engine uses Ophiomancer, Dreadhorde Invasion, Bloodghast, or Nether Traitor to provide creatures, then converts them through Viscera Seer, Ashnod's Altar, or Warren Soultrader. Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER turns sacrifices into cards, while Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Ayara, First of Locthwain, and Vengeful Bloodwitch drain the table. Dictate of Erebos is the strongest control piece, forcing creature sacrifices whenever your expendable creatures die. The deck has good internal synergy and several redundant roles, but its expensive engines, limited tutors, weak protection, and lack of a deterministic finisher make it a long-game attrition deck rather than a compact combo deck. It can dominate creature-heavy tables, but opponents with noncreature threats, graveyard hate, or efficient enchantment removal can interrupt the plan.
