Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos group-slug engine helmed by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The strategy punishes basic opponent actions—such as drawing cards, tapping lands, and casting spells—using low-cost permanents like Razorkin Needlehead, Roiling Vortex, and Eidolon of the Great Revel. When an opponent loses life on their turn, Valgavoth grows and draws a fresh card, generating up to three additional cards and counters per turn cycle. The deck transitions into a lethal clock around Turn 5 by resolving damage multipliers such as Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might, or asymmetric finishers like Havoc Festival and Heartless Hidetsugu. Flexible removal and targeted protection safeguard the board while passive damage and an evasive, heavily buffed commander close out the game by Turn 7.
