Deck overview

This deck is a Selesnya Hydra and token midrange strategy commanded by Polukranos Reborn. The primary game plan revolves around accelerating mana in the opening turns, deploying Polukranos on Turn 3, and transforming it into Polukranos, Engine of Ruin by Turn 5. Once transformed, Polukranos acts as a resilient 6/6 lifelink anchor that replaces dying nontoken Hydras with pairs of 3/3 reach and lifelink tokens. The deck translates this board presence into a lethal clock on Turn 6 through massive stat escalators like Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus, Gargos, Vicious Watcher, and Nissa, Ascended Animist. While the deck possesses resilient death triggers and strong artifact and enchantment control via Aura Shards, it depends on combat damage across multiple turn cycles, leaving it susceptible to mass exile effects. Notably, Solemnity serves as a critical internal anti-synergy with the deck's X-cost Hydras.
