Deck overview

This deck is an Esper control and topdeck-manipulation strategy led by Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign. The primary game plan utilizes early artifact ramp to deploy Yennett on Turn 4, followed by topdeck ordering tools such as Sensei's Divining Top, Brainstorm, and Doom Whisperer. On Turn 5, Yennett attacks to reveal and cast devastating odd-cost spells for free, including Void Winnower, Toxrill, the Corrosive, and Breach the Multiverse. These threats establish asymmetric board locks, strip opposing creatures, and present a fast combat clock. The deck backs up this strategy with versatile white, blue, and black removal spells to handle opposing threats, alongside niche minigame and theft effects. While the deck generates high mana velocity once Yennett attacks, its reliance on a 5-mana commander without haste makes it susceptible to well-timed spot removal before the first trigger resolves.
