Deck overview

This is an Esper midrange-control deck built around Y'shtola, Night's Blessed. The plan is to resolve the commander, then chain noncreature spells of mana value 3 or greater to ping each opponent for 2 and pad your life total while her end-step clause converts life-loss into cards. A dense instant-speed interaction suite and several magecraft/second-spell draw engines (Archmage Emeritus, Archmage of Runes, Alphinaud Leveilleur, Trouble in Pairs) keep the tank full. Finishers are attrition drains (Psychosis Crawler, Wizard ping tokens from Circle of Power/Transpose, Mai, Scornful Striker), a resolved Bolas's Citadel, and incremental combat. Exquisite Blood turns the ping suite into a massive life buffer. The deck plays draw-go, answers threats on the stack, and closes once card advantage and life totals diverge.
