Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug, Wicked Worm

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Smaug, Wicked Worm is a midrange treasure/amass commander who wants a wide Goblins/Orcs/Armies board, a stocked graveyard, and a late-game dragon punch. The deck builds early pressure with amass and goblin payoffs, then uses Smaug's commander trigger to turn Treasure mana into cards. Secondary lines include a burn plan via Guttersnipe, Gandalf, Fiery Inscription, and Ojer Axonil, and a sacrifice engine using Smaug the Impenetrable, Mayhem Devil, and Barad-dur/The Great Goblin. Scourge of the Throne and Anger enable an extra-combat haste kill. Smaug the Impenetrable is the hidden commander of the finish line; the deck wins by overwhelming combat or by converting one sacrifice loop into a massive mana float and lethal amass pings.
