Format: Commander

Commander: Astarion, the Decadent

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Orzhov lifegain-drain deck whose primary plan is an infinite Exquisite Blood/Sanguine Bond-style loop. Astarion, the Decadent amplifies whichever drain you have already done: Feed repeats the life lost that turn, Friends banks the life gained; he is a value engine rather than a required combo piece. The deck is built around his Feed side, with Vampire tribal synergies, life doublers, and tutors that find one of the many redundant drain pieces. Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose effectively functions as a hidden commander and second Sanguine Bond. Backed by phase/indestructible protection and life-gain alt-win conditions, it can win through both infinite drain and a 50-life Aetherflux/Test of Endurance line.
