Deck overview

This Sultai deck is helmed by Otrimi, the Ever-Playful and centers on stacking powerful mutate abilities onto cheap, evasive non-Human host creatures. By mutating Otrimi onto cards like Ukkima, Stalking Shadow, Cold-Eyed Selkie, or Plague Stinger, the deck converts early board presence into lethal combat damage, massive card draw, and repeated graveyard recursion. Support mutate creatures such as Gemrazer, Sawtusk Demolisher, and Dirge Bat provide built-in removal every time the stack grows, while Auspicious Starrix floods the battlefield with permanents. A rich suite of 1-mana protective instants shields the high-value creature stack from targeted removal and sweepers. While concentrating resources onto a single creature makes the deck vulnerable to well-timed exile wipes, alternate win conditions like Brokkos, Apex of Forever, Scute Swarm, and Finale of Devastation provide strong resilience and ensure the deck maintains lethal pressure into the late game.
