Deck overview

This deck is a dedicated Grixis aristocrats strategy built around Marchesa, the Black Rose. It leverages +1/+1 counters—generated via dethrone, modular artifact creatures, and effects like Unspeakable Symbol—to recur creatures from the graveyard at the beginning of each player's end step. By combining free sacrifice outlets like Carrion Feeder, Viscera Seer, and Goblin Bombardment with recursive value pieces, the deck generates continuous card advantage through Grim Haruspex, Dark Prophecy, and Baleful Strix. It closes games by recycling high-impact death triggers such as Kokusho, the Evening Star, Flayer of the Hatebound, and Marionette Apprentice, draining the entire table over multiple consecutive end steps. A lean protection package featuring Deflecting Swat, Slip Out the Back, and cheap countermagic shields Marchesa during vulnerable windows.
