Deck overview

This deck uses Samwise Gamgee as a Food-fueled value engine. Creatures such as Peregrin Took, Gilded Goose, Bill the Pony, and Tireless Provisioner create Foods, while Trail of Crumbs, Caretaker's Talent, and Beast Whisperer turn repeated creature and Food actions into selection or cards. The midgame plan is to scale a token board with Doubling Season, Queen Allenal of Ruadach, Felidar Retreat, Second Harvest, and Cadira, Caller of the Small. The deck has useful removal and some protection, but its mana is mostly on curve, its tutors are limited, and its combat finish is not deterministic. Samwise Gamgee gives strong recovery and incremental advantage, yet the deck must keep several vulnerable creatures and enchantments in play before becoming threatening. It is best suited to a casual or lower-power multiplayer table where its Food and token engines have time to develop.
