Deck overview

Hylda of the Icy Crown leads a tap-control tempo deck that converts every instance of tapping an opponent's creature into value. Each time you pay {1} after tapping an untapped creature an opponent controls, Hylda offers one of three modes: a 4/4 Elemental token, a team-wide +1/+1 counter, or a scry-2-draw-1. The deck is packed with cheap tap enablers-ETB tappers, flash tappers, tap-target instants, and stun-counter spells-that both disrupt opposing boards and fuel Hylda's engine. Secondary payoffs like Sharae of Numbing Depths and Verity Circle turn the same tap triggers into card advantage, while Solitary Sanctuary adds a growing threat. The primary win condition is combat: accumulating a wide board of 4/4 tokens (or pumped smaller creatures) and making them unblockable via Herald of Secret Streams or overwhelming through repeated tapping. There are no infinite combos; the deck wins through incremental tempo and resource advantage.
