The Sentry, Golden Guardian (from Edhrc) by fjuanma

Format: Commander

Commander: The Sentry, Golden Guardian

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Helmed by The Sentry, Golden Guardian, this is a mono-white pillow-fort/blink control deck that converts an indestructible 5/5 commander into a reusable blocker and a slow commander-damage clock. The commander's ETB gives an opponent a legendary 5/5 flying, indestructible Void token, which the deck answers with attack taxes, vow effects, and the commander itself as a wall. The primary path to victory is combat: suit The Sentry, Golden Guardian with Shadowspear, Commander's Plate, or Swiftfoot Boots, add double strike via Duelist's Heritage, and fly over for 21 commander damage per opponent. Backup threats include Sun Titan, Phyrexian Vindicator, and Anti-Venom, Horrifying Healer, with damage-redirection packages like Pariah and Pariah's Shield making the board very difficult to crack. Blink engines such as Teleportation Circle, Conjurer's Closet, and The Mind Stone provide recursion and rebuilding power.
