Shirei [B3] by Joe_King

Format: Commander

Commander: Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker is a mono-black aristocrats engine. The primary plan is to play power-1-or-less creatures, sacrifice them for value, and let Shirei return them each end step, draining opponents with Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Marionette Apprentice. Secondary paths are infinite loops using Ashnod's Altar with Nim Deathmantle or Pawn of Ulamog plus Nether Traitor, and Chthonian Nightmare recursion. Shirei is the repeatable recursion engine and the reason the deck can grind; it is not required for the combo wins. Tergrid, God of Fright is a secondary payoff for the discard/sacrifice subtheme, not a hidden commander; its Lantern back is only a mana sink. The deck wins by assembling a drain loop rather than by combat.
