Deck overview

This mono-black deck combines classic aristocrats attrition with reanimator payoffs under Liliana the Repentant. The commander provides early mill utility whenever creatures enter, preparing the graveyard for subsequent recursion while threatening a late-game creature return via her exhaust ability. The deck sets up low-cost engines using token generators like Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia and sacrifice fodder like Reassembling Skeleton, feeding draw engines such as Skullclamp and Midnight Reaper. Midgame turns focus on creature-based disruption through edict effects, paving the way for decisive high-cost threats like Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Massacre Wurm, and Valgavoth, Terror Eater. Without fast mana or infinite loops, the deck wins through cumulative life drain and repeated graveyard recursion.
