Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black attrition and control strategy piloted by Zodiark, Umbral God. Its primary goal is to control the battlefield through forced sacrifice and asymmetric creature denial while accumulating large amounts of black mana using swamp-doubling effects and lands like Cabal Coffers. On turn 5, Zodiark enters the battlefield, immediately halving each player's non-God creatures and growing substantially in the process. Because Zodiark possesses native indestructibility, it serves as an immense combat threat that systematically eliminates opponents through commander damage, augmented by evasion equipment like Whispersilk Cloak and Leyline Axe. Should the commander plan encounter resistance, the deck pivots smoothly into an alternate route using classic mono-black finishers like Grave Titan and Archon of Cruelty, or an infinite drain combo with Enduring Tenacity and Exquisite Blood. While highly lethal against creature-heavy tables, the deck is vulnerable to targeted exile removal and struggles to interact with non-creature spells on the stack.
