Deck overview

This deck is an optimized Dimir Flash Attrition Control list commanded by Talion, the Kindly Lord. The strategy focuses on establishing Talion on Turn 3 or 4, typically naming the number two to capitalize on the format's dense concentration of two-mana ramp, utility creatures, and interaction. As opponents cast their spells, Talion continuously drains their life totals and refills your hand. This immense card flow fuels an elite reactive suite packed with free countermagic like Fierce Guardianship and Force of Will, alongside instant-speed removal such as Deadly Rollick and Drown in the Loch. Rather than racing for an instant combo, the deck grinds down the table through evasive Faerie combat, passive life drain, and compounding engines like an active Bloodchief Ascension or Hullbreaker Horror. The deck excels at dictating game tempo, maintaining open mana, and outlasting opponents in extended multiplayer games.
