Format: Commander

Commander: Toph, the First Metalbender

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Toph, the First Metalbender runs a land-beatdown plan: earthbend effects turn lands into hasty 0/0 creatures with +1/+1 counters, then extra-combat cards (Bumi, Unleashed; Moraug, Fury of Akoum) and double strike (Toph, Greatest Earthbender) close out the game. Toph's artifact-lands ability is the hidden engine: it lets Bootleggers' Stash treasure, Liquimetal Torque, and Gonti's Aether Heart fuel both mana and a combined-arms combo. The hidden DFC The Legend of Kyoshi // Avatar Kyoshi is included for its transformed back face, which gives all lands trample/hexproof and taps for huge mana; the saga front provides draw and a large earthbend. Secondaries include Scute Swarm/Titania landfall and basic-land fetching from The Earth King.
