Deck overview

This Golgari Midrange deck leverages the Partner pairing of Bebop, Skull & Crossbones and Rocksteady, Mutant Marauder to construct a self-fueling +1/+1 counter engine. Rocksteady places counters on Bebop whenever nontoken creatures enter the battlefield, turning Bebop's deathtouch attacks into massive burst card draw at the cost of life. The 99 amplifies this synergy using counter doublers like Corpsejack Menace and Michelangelo, Weirdness to 11, alongside recursion pieces like Evolution Witness and Cauldron of Essence to sustain attrition. The deck transitions into the late game by expanding its board with towering threats like Yorvo, Lord of Garenbrig and Grakmaw, Skyclave Ravager, granting evasion through Emil, Vastlands Roamer and Champion of Lambholt, or closing games explosively with Triumph of the Hordes. While vulnerable to repeated sweepers and lacking stack disruption, its high creature density and reliable card draw allow it to grind down opponents effectively in fair combat metas.
