Deck overview

This deck is a Jeskai Spellslinger Control build commanded by Hinata, Dawn-Crowned. The strategy leverages Hinata's cost-reduction ability, which reduces the cost of spells by {1} for each target they possess. This discount turns expensive, high-impact spells into lethal tempo plays: Distorting Wake bounces every opposing nonland permanent for just three blue mana, Magma Opus costs two mana, and Disorder in the Court mass-exiles opposing boards while investigating repeatedly. Hinata also imposes a {1} tax on opposing targeted interaction, making opposing removal clunkier. The deck secures the board around Turn 5 with an asymmetric wipe or Willbreaker creature theft, then grinds opponents out through combat damage using Hinata, Elemental tokens, Drake tokens, or an infinite mana loop with Dualcaster Mage and Ghostly Flicker. The deck features strong protection and reactive interaction, but depends heavily on keeping Hinata on the battlefield to bypass high printed mana costs.
