Deck overview

This deck is an Esper Sphinx tribal midrange strategy commanded by The Ur-Sphinx. From the command zone, the commander provides a passive eminence cost reduction that discounts all Sphinx spells by {1}, lowering the curve of an otherwise expensive tribe. The deck establishes early mana using 2-mana artifacts, medallions, and Watcher of the Spheres to land Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign on Turn 5. Once Unesh resolves, it acts as both a cost reducer and a recurring Fact or Fiction engine, quickly chaining large flying threats such as Dream Trawler, Tivit, Seller of Secrets, and Sphinx of Uthuun. Opponents are pressured starting on Turn 6 by high-power evasive attackers, eventually closing the game through repeated combat damage by Turn 9. The list bolsters this game plan with versatile board sweepers, targeted interaction, and explosive alternate haymakers such as Magister Sphinx and Dawnsire, Sunstar Dreadnought.
