Deck overview

This Rakdos deck centers around Smaug the Impenetrable, utilizing the commander's high base power, indestructible nature, and noncombat damage trigger to produce overwhelming bursts of Treasure tokens. Supported by red-black treasure-based ramp like Big Score, Unexpected Windfall, and Magda, Brazen Outlaw, the deck reliably ramps toward its 7-mana commander by Turn 6. Once Smaug enters the battlefield, the strategy detonates noncombat damage spells like Blasphemous Act, Wrack with Madness, or Star of Extinction directly into Smaug. This immediately generates 8 to 20 Treasures, which fund game-winning burn or an infinite combo. Pairing Smaug with Draconic Visitor converts each Treasure token into a 5/5 flying Dragon creature token instead. When combined with entry-damage sources like Dragon Tempest, Terror of the Peaks, Scourge of Valkas, or Warstorm Surge, each entering Dragon deals damage to Smaug, generating an infinite loop of 5/5 Dragons and direct burn that eliminates all three opponents in a single turn.
