Deck overview

This deck is a quintessential Rakdos Group Slug strategy piloted by Mogis, God of Slaughter. Rather than assembling an intricate creature board or combo sequence, the deck deploys symmetric and asymmetric tax enchantments that penalize opponents for every fundamental Magic action: tapping lands, casting spells, drawing cards, and keeping creatures. Accelerated by a robust package of early mana artifacts, Mogis establishes early life erosion on Turn 3 or 4. By Turn 5, damage doublers and severe punisher cards like Havoc Festival, Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, and Manabarbs drastically accelerate the clock. The deck maintains stability against aggressive tables through sweepers like Toxic Deluge and combat limiters like Ensnaring Bridge and Silent Arbiter. While vulnerable to focused enchantment removal and high-speed combo wins, the deck steadily grinds tables to dust by converting opposing resource utilization directly into terminal life loss.
