Hail Hydra (7.4) by user9896052

Format: Commander

Commander: Zaxara, the Exemplary

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Zaxara, the Exemplary leads a Sultai hydra deck built around X-cost spells and +1/+1-counter synergy. The primary plan is to ramp Zaxara out early, attach Freed from the Real or Pemmin's Aura to it, then loop its tap ability into infinite colored mana and finish with Exsanguinate or Villainous Wealth. A secondary path assembles an enormous trampling hydra army with Doubling Season, Branching Evolution, Corpsejack Menace, and Kami of Whispered Hopes. Simic Ascendancy is a cheap alternate win that can race alongside counter-doublers. There is no hidden commander; Kami and Selvala are engine pieces under Zaxara's umbrella.
