Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats and attrition control engine powered by Avacyn, Angel of Horror. Avacyn turns nontoken creature deaths into recurring value, returning them to the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step. The deck pairs this ability with modular sacrifice outlets (Phyrexian Altar, Ashnod's Altar, Warren Soultrader) and edict creatures (Fleshbag Marauder, Plaguecrafter, Accursed Marauder) to generate an oppressive recurring board wipe that triggers on every player's turn. High-density ramp—including explosive black rituals and big-mana engines like Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast—allows the deck to cast its 8-mana commander well ahead of standard timing. Once the loop is established, opponents are locked out of maintaining creatures while drain engines such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Syr Konrad, the Grim, and Blood Artist rapidly drain the table to zero.
