Demons by RolaufTheWizard

Format: Commander

Commander: Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This mono-black deck helmed by Varragoth, Bloodsky Sire is a classic demon-tribal reanimator strategy. The primary game plan is to fill the graveyard via self-mill (Mindwrack Demon, Incarnation Technique) or Entomb/Buried Alive, then cheat enormous demons into play early with cheap reanimation like Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Necromancy. Varragoth provides a repeatable, combat-conditioned tutor (once per turn after attacking) to find critical pieces such as Necropotence for card advantage, Liliana's Contract as an alternate win condition, or extra reanimation. The deck wins through overwhelming combat damage from hulking flyers like Demonlord Belzenlok, Vilis, Broker of Blood, and Razaketh, the Foulblooded, or via the deterministic four-demon Liliana's Contract trigger. A dense suite of rituals (Dark Ritual, Cabal Ritual, Culling the Weak) and cost-reducers (Jet Medallion, Urza's Incubator) accelerates the curve, while Contamination and Dictate of Erebos provide stax and mass-edict control.
