Deck overview

This mono-black deck harnesses Baron Helmut Zemo to fuel an explosive aristocrats and reanimator engine. The commander connives whenever you cast a black spell from hand, looting through cards and loading the graveyard with high-mana black pips. Once 15 black mana symbols accumulate in the graveyard, Zemo attacks to trigger his Boast ability, copying and casting up to three massive spells without paying their mana costs. Free casts of Rise of the Dark Realms, Bolas's Citadel, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel create an instant, game-ending swing. The deck supports this game plan with dense spot removal, targeted discard engines, and oppressive creature control from Archfiend of Depravity and Archfiend of Ifnir. Equipment like Lightning Greaves provides the haste and protection needed to attack safely. Even if Zemo is disrupted, traditional reanimation spells allow big demons and value engines to close the game with minimal delay.
