Nevermore by Dreamcoyote

Format: Commander

Commander: Vega, the Watcher

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This Azorius deck helmed by Vega, the Watcher is a value-engine control build centered on casting spells from anywhere other than the hand. The primary game plan leverages foretell, suspend, plot, and the commander's draw trigger to grind out card advantage, then close the game with large life-totals-based creatures like Psychosis Crawler and Body of Knowledge, or through an army of bird tokens from Ranar the Ever-Watchful and Murmuration. The deck packs a moderate suite of board wipes and counterspells to survive the mid-game, but its lack of compact win conditions and heavy reliance on incremental value mean it typically wins through attrition rather than a decisive combo turn. The commander is a critical draw engine, but the deck can still function with its foretell/suspend engine even if Vega is removed.
