Scions and Swarms by user8843112

Format: Commander

Commander: Azlask, the Swelling Scourge

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Azlask is an Eldrazi token-recursion deck. It generates, sacrifices, and recycles Scion/Spawn tokens to build experience counters, then uses the commander's five-color ability to make a wide board huge, indestructible, and annihilating. The fastest hidden engine is non-commander: Basking Broodscale plus Rosie Cotton loops the same +1/+1 counter and Spawns forever; Glaring Flesharer turns that loop into direct damage, or the extra Spawns fund Azlask's overrun. Mazirek, Smothering Abomination, and From Beyond provide sacrifice payoff and card flow. There is no double-faced commander; the deck is still designed around Azlask as finisher, but the actual lethal loop does not require it.
