Deck overview

Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker is a monoblack aristocrats/recursion deck whose real engine is 29 copies of Shadowborn Apostle. The primary plan is to sacrifice six Apostles to put powerful Demons directly onto the battlefield, then use Shirei to return the small bodies each end step for repeated drain from Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Bastion of Remembrance, and Syr Konrad. Secondary paths are the Liliana's Contract four-Demon alternate win and a grindier board-control game with Grave Pact. Shirei is the value backbone, not a required combo piece, so the deck keeps functioning if he is answered, but much slower.
