Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Black control deck built around Fumulus, the Infestation, using forced sacrifice effects to control the board while generating an army of evasive tokens. Fumulus triggers whenever any player sacrifices a nontoken creature, creating a 1/1 black Insect token with flying. The deck leverages symmetric edicts such as Fleshbag Marauder, Accursed Marauder, and Grave Pact to strip opponents of their creatures while breaking parity by amassing tokens. As the Insect swarm grows, attacking triggers Fumulus to drain 1 life per attacker, supplemented by classic aristocrats like Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Bastion of Remembrance. Resource denial cards like Contamination, Braids, Cabal Minion, and Smokestack lock opponents out of mana and permanents, while Bolas's Citadel provides late-game card velocity.
