Deck overview

This is a Bant flicker-control list helmed by Derevi, Empyrial Tactician that blends soft stax, blink/airbend value, and a decisive go-wide combat finish. Derevi is a low-friction engine: her fixed {1}{G}{W}{U} command-zone ability sidesteps commander tax, and every connect taps down opposing resources or untaps your own mana. The 99 supports her with a dense blink and airbend package (Soulherder, Thassa, Deep-Dwelling, Appa, Steadfast Guardian, the Aang cycle), ETB disruptors, and lock pieces like Opposition, Seedborn Muse, and Grand Arbiter Augustin IV. Wins come from overwhelming combat-Craterhoof Behemoth, Finale of Devastation, Avenger of Zendikar-after the board has been padded with Ally and Plant tokens, rather than a single brittle infinite. The airbend suite adds timing flexibility and, with Doc Aurlock, Grizzled Genius, steep discounts on recasts. It is interactive midrange control that closes through combat once the table is constrained.
