Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul Landfall Burn deck commanded by Tannuk, Memorial Ensign. The strategy accelerates its mana base with efficient land tutors and ramp creatures, deploying Tannuk alongside extra land-drop enablers like Azusa, Lost but Seeking and Dryad of the Ilysian Grove or land recursion engines like Crucible of Worlds and Ramunap Excavator. Once assembled, every land that enters triggers direct burn against each opponent while drawing cards on Tannuk's second landfall trigger each turn. Damage amplifiers such as Gratuitous Violence, Tomik, Izzet Sparkmage, and Ancient Greenwarden turn modest land plays into lethal table-wide burst damage. Auxiliary finishers like Scute Swarm, Field of the Dead, and Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle overwhelm opponents with token swarms and molten bolts. Strong interactive shielding from Sylvan Safekeeper, Heroic Intervention, and cheap red counterspells protects the engine, while Constant Mists staves off opposing combat pressure.
