Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Gruul modified midrange build led by Chishiro, the Shattered Blade. The strategy centers on leveraging the commander's ability to generate 2/2 menace Spirit tokens whenever an Aura or Equipment enters the battlefield, then scaling those creatures each end step with +1/+1 counters. Dense 1- and 2-CMC ramp reliably powers Chishiro out on Turn 3, followed immediately by low-cost, repeatable modifications such as Whip Silk, Crown of Flames, or utility Equipment. Turn 5 establishes a critical threat onset by deploying major force multipliers like Kalonian Hydra, Kodama of the West Tree, or Halana and Alena, Partners, converting wide boards into lethal trample damage. A two-card infinite combat loop exists through Helm of the Host and Akki Battle Squad. The deck protects its board through spells like Heroic Intervention and Silkguard, while bouncing Auras provide resilient token generation across multi-turn combat rotations.
