Smaug the Magnificent by slowloris

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Smaug the Magnificent is a mono-red Treasure-and-Dragon deck. The primary plan is to turn Treasure tokens into explosive mana, then use Smaug's haste and attack trigger as both removal and a scaling finisher. Secondary lines develop a wide damaging Dragon board or win with Hellkite Tyrant's twenty-artifact upkeep trigger. There is no true hidden commander; There and Back Again simply creates a Smaug token. The deck is built to use the front face: Smaug's upkeep Treasure and repeatable attack-trigger damage reward accumulating Treasures. Damage doublers like Twinflame Tyrant and triple damage from Fiery Emancipation turn modest Treasure counts into lethal attacks.
