Deck overview

This mono-green deck helmed by Zopandrel, Hunger Dominus utilizes heavy basic-land ramp to deploy formidable creatures and poison threats ahead of curve. The primary game plan curves 1-to-3 CMC acceleration spells into mid-game engines like Defiler of Vigor and Surrak and Goreclaw, culminating in casting Zopandrel to double the power and toughness of all controlled creatures at each combat step. Threats like Tyrranax Rex, Bloated Contaminator, and Paladin of Predation rapidly stack poison counters, while over-the-top finishers such as Craterhoof Behemoth and Triumph of the Hordes provide team-wide trample and infect. The deck breaks parity on Winter Moon by running 36 basic Forests, punishing greedy multi-color manabases. Although vulnerable to mass exile sweepers and heavy creature interaction, its resilient mana base and dense suite of standalone beaters allow it to rebuild rapidly and close games in combat.
