Deck overview

This Queen Marchesa deck executes a classic Mardu attrition and control strategy. It focuses on controlling the board through continuous edict effects, asymmetric sacrifice engines, and the monarch mechanic. In the early game, the deck accelerates mana using a dense suite of two-mana rocks and establishes incremental value engines such as Black Market Connections, Braids, Arisen Nightmare, and Queen Marchesa. During the mid-game, it grinds down opposing creature boards and hands using cards like Doom Foretold, Rankle, Master of Pranks, Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet, and Crackling Doom while generating expendable tokens. The deck turns the corner around Turn 6 by resolving high-impact closers such as Bolas's Citadel, Ruinous Ultimatum, or Revel in Riches. It closes games by Turn 8 through accumulated token combat damage, direct drain triggers from Mayhem Devil and Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger, or a sudden Revel in Riches upkeep victory.
