Deck overview

This deck is a classic Mardu Vampire tribal aggro and aristocrats list built around Edgar Markov. By leveraging Edgar's eminence trigger from the command zone, every Vampire spell generates a 1/1 Vampire token, creating immediate go-wide presence without investing extra mana. The deck builds a critical mass of cheap Vampires on Turns 1 through 3, then layers sacrifice outlets and blood-drain payoffs like Blood Artist, Cruel Celebrant, and Sanctum Seeker on Turn 4. Critical onset occurs on Turn 5 when mass drain pieces like Malakir Bloodwitch or attack triggers threaten lethal damage across the table. Supported by protection spells such as Clever Concealment and spot exile removal, the deck pushes through blockers with sheer numbers and finishes opponents through combat and sacrificial drain by Turn 7. Its high density of redundant low-cost creatures ensures resilient operational consistency even after board resets.
