Deck overview

This Grixis control deck is helmed by Sauron, the Dark Lord, a commander that turns opponent's spells into Orc Army tokens and uses the Ring's temptation to convert combat damage into massive card advantage. The primary game plan is to deploy Sauron early, protect him with a dense interaction suite, and grind out value through repeated ring tempts - discarding the hand to draw four cards each turn. The deck closes via large hasty threats (Valgavoth, Terror Eater, Cavern-Hoard Dragon), incremental drain effects (The Lord of Pain, Screaming Nemesis), and occasional extra combat/turn spells (Aggravated Assault, Temporal Mastery) to accelerate the kill.
