Kaalia and Friends by user2377696

Format: Commander

Commander: Kaalia of the Vast

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Mardu "attack with the commander" deck built around Kaalia of the Vast. The plan is straightforward: cast Kaalia, protect her, and convert each attack into a free Angel, Demon, or Dragon entering tapped and attacking. The main win is combat damage from evasive, high-power flyers like Gisela, Blade of Goldnight, Drakuseth, Maw of Flames, Balefire Dragon, and Terror of Mount Velus, with Master of Cruelties acting as a one-attack life-set assassination tool. Extra combat from Aurelia, the Warleader and doubled attack triggers from Isshin, Two Heavens as One let the deck chain multiple Kaalia triggers in a single turn. Sneak Attack provides a secondary cheat, while a dense suite of white protection spells, haste sources, and Grand Abolisher help ensure the key combat turn actually resolves.
