New Untitled Deck by user7425686

Format: Commander

Commander: Sméagol, Helpful Guide

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Smeagol, Helpful Guide leads a budget Golgari Food/Ring midrange build with a strong Tolkien identity. The commander is not the finisher; he is a ramp/mill engine. The plan is to generate creature deaths and Ring temptations, then use Smeagol, Helpful Guide's second ability to steal a land from an opponent on every temptation while filling graveyards. Food tokens are the connective tissue: they make mana through Gilded Goose and Bag End Banquet, draw cards through Savvy Hunter and Well of Lost Dreams, recur Cauldron Familiar, and become burst payoffs in Feasting Hobbit, Assemble the Entmoot, and Pippin, Warden of Isengard's haste pump. Sanguine Bond gives incidental lifegain real reach. There are no infinite combos; the deck wins by grinding out lands, life, and bodies until Sanguine Bond, Lobelia, Defender of Bag End, and a large attack convert the board.
