Deck overview

This Abzan token-swarm deck helmed by Olag and Miau, New Friends blends Zombie and Cat tribal synergies with explosive token multiplication and +1/+1 counter doubling. The primary game plan is to generate a wide board of creatures-especially Zombies and Cats-then drain opponents through ETB/death triggers (Corpse Knight, Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, Wayward Servant, Zulaport Cutthroat, Mirkwood Bats) and the commander's end-step life loss. Token doublers (Anointed Procession, Mondrak, Glory Dominus, Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation, Parallel Lives, Doubling Season) and counter doublers (Branching Evolution, Hardened Scales, The Ozolith, Winding Constrictor) turn modest generators into overwhelming boards. The deck also packs mass recursion (Living Death, Patriarch's Bidding) and a backup win condition in Halo Fountain. It wins through incremental drain rather than a single explosive turn, relying on resilience and redundancy.
