Deck overview

Yarus, Roar of the Old Gods is the lynchpin of a Gruul manifest/morph strategy. The deck's primary plan is to deploy Yarus early, cloak or manifest several permanents, attack with hasted face-down creatures to draw cards, then flip value pieces (Ainok Survivalist, Den Protector, Ashcloud Phoenix) for incremental advantage. Its secondary path is a sacrifice loop: a face-down Ashcloud Phoenix dying under Yarus returns and flips face up, enabling infinite mana and damage with Ashnod's Altar and Goblin Bombardment. A tertiary plan cheats out large threats via Natural Order, Defense of the Heart, Elvish Piper, or Quicksilver Amulet and closes with a hasted, Kessig Wolf Run-pumped alpha strike. Yarus is essential for haste, card draw, and recursion; this single-faced commander has no hidden alternate face.
