Deck overview

Thranduil, the Elvenking leads a high-powered Sultai combo deck that leverages the graveyard as a versatile ability toolkit. The primary strategy mirrors the classic Necrotic Ooze engine: by depositing key Elves like Devoted Druid, Selvala, Heart of the Wilds, and Ezuri, Renegade Leader into the graveyard with Buried Alive or Hermit Druid, Thranduil inherits their activated abilities. Tapping for massive mana with Selvala's ability and untapping via Devoted Druid's -1/-1 counter ability generates infinite mana and infinite power, while Deepwood Denizen draws the library to close the game with Walking Ballista or Thassa's Oracle. A dense package of fast mana rocks, low-cost dorks, and zero-mana counterspells ensures rapid setup on Turn 4 with robust protection. If Thranduil is disrupted, the deck pivots smoothly into independent win lines like Thassa's Oracle with Demonic Consultation or Bloom Tender with Freed from the Real.
