Monarch by VoxArcana

Format: Commander

Commander: Garland, Royal Kidnapper

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Garland, Royal Kidnapper is a monarch-theft deck. The primary plan is to cast Garland early, become the monarch, and use its trigger to steal an opponent's creature whenever that opponent takes the crown. Goad effects (The Master, Sly Instigator, Bloodthirsty Blade, Kang Dynasty) force attacks away from you and soften life totals. Secondary paths use mill and reanimation (Charnel Serenade, Sepulchral Primordial, The Cyber-Controller) to steal from graveyards and libraries. The commander is both the engine and the payoff: stolen creatures get +2/+2 and can't be sacrificed. There is no hidden commander; The Master, Mesmerist is a supporting engine. The deck wins by overwhelming combat with stolen, buffed creatures.
